Our Educators
The Refaxi course was developed by a small group of educators and researchers who study how physical environments shape human behavior. Their work is grounded in behavioral science and adult learning theory, not personal training or performance coaching.
Dr. Mara Okafor
Environmental Psychology and Behavioral Design
Dr. Okafor spent over a decade studying how residential spaces influence daily behavior patterns. Her research focused specifically on the relationship between home layout and physical activity frequency in adults who work remotely or spend significant time at home.
She developed the space design curriculum for Refaxi by translating academic research on environmental cues into practical, accessible language. The goal was always to make behavioral science useful to someone sitting in their living room trying to figure out why they keep skipping movement.
James Wren
Habit Science and Self-Directed Behavior Change
James brings a background in applied behavioral science with a focus on how adults form and sustain habits without external accountability structures. He has studied why gym memberships and fitness apps tend to lose effectiveness over time and what the research suggests about more durable approaches.
His modules in the Refaxi course cover motivation mapping, internal accountability systems, and how to design personal behavior loops that do not depend on willpower alone. He is particularly interested in the role of identity and environment in long-term habit maintenance.
Priya Nair
Adult Learning Design and Self-Paced Instruction
Priya designed the structure and learning flow of the Refaxi course. Her background is in instructional design for adult learners, with particular focus on self-paced formats that do not require a cohort or live instruction to be effective.
She built the course architecture so that each module delivers value independently. This means learners can start anywhere and still get something useful, rather than needing to complete everything in sequence to make progress.
Educational content, not fitness prescription
The Refaxi team made a deliberate choice early in development. The course would not prescribe exercises, set performance targets, or make claims about physical outcomes. These decisions are not limitations. They are the point.
By focusing entirely on the educational principles of space design, motivation, and habit integration, the course stays relevant regardless of someone's fitness level, physical ability, or living situation. The content is designed to be useful to a wide range of adults.
All course content is reviewed internally for accuracy and clarity before publication. The team draws on published research in behavioral science and environmental psychology, and the materials are updated when relevant research emerges.
